Estimate has changed from that previously reported due to new methodology or correction of a rounding error.
Changes over time are due in part to improvements in the quality and accuracy of WFRS data.
Population served by CWS exceeded the U.S. Census intercensal state population estimate; WFRS population estimate was reduced by the ratio of the intercensal population estimate to the WFRS CWS population estimate.
Complete data were not available from WFRS; State provided additional information.
Data for these States based on EPA data with no update of new systems.
Changes over time are due in part to improvements in WFRS data for CWS with naturally occurring fluoride concentrations.
Federal Reporting Data System PWS service populations exceeded the Bureau of Census 1993 intercensal estimates for AR, CA, DC, FL, HI, LA, MA, NV, OK, RI, UT and PR.
Florida's 1992 total state population estimate was originally published as 13,480,000, a transcription error of the 1992 intercensal estimate of 13,488,000. Florida's 1992 PWS population was set equal to the total population estimate. Data for the originally reported PWS population were not available to correct the PWS population.
Utah's 1992 total state population estimate was originally published as 1,613,000, a transcription error of the 1992 intercensal estimate of 1,813,000. Utah's 1992 PWS population was set equal to the total population estimate. Data for the originally reported PWS population were not available to correct the PWS population.
